People are interesting creatures. If you just think about the way our minds work- it's incredible. In some way or another, we are all incredibly curious. We want to know more- now whether we want to know more about something academic or something you'd find on the sports channel or in a fashion magazine is irrelevant. We want to know.
In a want to know, we assume that we have questions. We might not know what the questions are- but these questions explain the sort of knowledge that we seek.
I consider myself to be a "why". Everyone is different, there are Whos, Whats, Hows, Whys- and knowing what kind of questions we ask can help us see ourselves better. But I- I'm a Why. This is probably why I am in a major in the social sciences. I want to know why language is the way it is, or why people think the way they think. I want to know motivations and the stories behind them. I want to know the history and the character to explain why someone would do what they did. As a result, I often over analyze things, including in my attempt to try to figure out why I myself have done something. Yet still- I can't help myself. It's just all so fascinating! I am here merely wanting to know more.
What sort of question are you?
I'm definitely a how. I want to know how things work, and yes why, but first I want to know HOW they function, how people function, and then I want to unbury the motive behind it. I consider it a strength with writing, but sometimes it drives me absolutely crazy. I think I have a lot of why in me as well, but not nearly as deep as it runs in you. I love your blog, cousin!
